Preliminary Steps
1. Read and Save Data.
– Use Depot Software.
– Read and save the data from your Tetra Radio using the Depot software.
– Save the full flash image of your device.
– Export and save the sensitive tuning values from the device.
2. Activate Test Mode
– Ensure Test Mode is activated from the CPS (Customer Programming Software).
3. Modify Firmware Configuration:
– Use Depot to open `cp_all_t/cp_ergo_block/ergo_data/ro/feature_flags`.
– Search for the field named `rf_safety_in_mni` and change its value from `0x00` to `0x01`.
– Save the codeplug and write it back to the radio.
Note: Also you can use Search option in CPS for : “rf_safety_in_mni”
4. Reboot and Access Test Mode Menu.
– Disconnect the radio.
– Power on the radio.
– On the keypad, press `*` (Asterisk), `#` (Hash), `Menu`, and then use the cursor right to open the Test Mode Menu.
5. Modify RF Power Output.
– Scroll down until you see a new feature called “TX Power Limit”
– Press `Select` to view all power output values.
– Choose the desired power output value and save it.
– Exit the menu.
You should now see your new power output value displayed on the main screen.
Compatibility
Note: This feature is not available for all Motorola Tetra Radio models and is firmware-dependent. It has been tested on models including MTP3000, MTP6000, MTM5000, and MTM800FuG, as well as newer radios with keypads.
