The Tactilon Dabat and Tactilon Dabat SC series from Airbus are both hybrid devices that combine a TETRA radio and a smartphone, designed for mission-critical communication. However, there are some key differences between the two models.
Tactilon Dabat:
– Combines a TETRA radio with a full Android smartphone.
– Supports both voice and data communication over TETRA networks.
– Features a 4.7-inch touchscreen, push-to-talk button, front and rear cameras, and is rugged with IP65 and IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance.
– Designed to be used in standard TETRA networks and is capable of hybrid roaming between TETRA and broadband networks
Tactilon Dabat SC:
– Includes all features of the original Tactilon Dabat but with enhanced connectivity.
– Offers “Super Connectivity” with both hybrid roaming and an additional smart roaming capability.
– Supports connection to three networks: TETRA, private LTE, and public LTE networks. Smart roaming allows the device to choose the most optimal broadband network, whether private or public, ensuring continuous and efficient connectivity.
– Designed for professionals who require reliable communication over multiple network types, improving operational efficiency
While both devices serve as robust communication tools for professionals, the Tactilon Dabat SC offers advanced network roaming capabilities, making it suitable for scenarios where seamless connectivity across various network types is crucial.
Unfortunately, as we speak, we have not seen any Airbus TH1n devices used by members of the HAMTETRA community. Therefore, we do not have information regarding their adaptation, pinout, programming or usability for HAM radio TETRA networks.
